Two Ways Medium Could Improve its Post-Scheduling Tool
I’m a long-time Medium writer/reader who paused writing for some years to build a company with my husband. Since my return, I noticed this cool “schedule post” feature, and I love that it exists. I would love to see a couple of feature enhancements.
One feature hope comes from being a regular ol’ Medium user and accidentally publishing something I had scheduled after going back into the post to edit it.
Another feature hope comes from using the Facebook/Meta ‘planner’ tool, which has come along nicely over the past few years.
How it works:
Write a post.
Hit “Publish”
Choose the tiny gray text ‘schedule for later’ (located next to the ‘Publish and send now’ button in the lower right.)
What’s good?
- There’s a way to schedule things for the future. This is awesome! It’s nice to have something basic over not having the capability at all.
- It’s simple to use, especially if you’re scheduling one or two stories and have an excellent memory.
I do not have an excellent memory. This is where some scheduling tool feature improvements would be welcome.
