Spend 30-Seconds a Day Doing This One Thing to Feel Happier
I’ve spent a lot of time reading about the healing, energizing, and transformative effects a practice of gratitude can have on your life and decided a few years ago to experiment with the concept of a daily gratitude practice. I bought a bunch of different gratitude journals, and I even tried turning a blank notebook into my own gratitude journal, but the habit never stuck.
To build a more sustainable routine, I simplified the objective into something I could do quickly every day for 31 consecutive days to test things out. I called it my “1-a-Day-in-May” challenge.
How it works:
•Define a timeframe. (Ten days, one month, etc.)
•Pick a place you see daily without trying too hard.
(e.g., a daily-log, a journal, a wall, a mirror, the refrigerator, etc.)
•Grab a pad of sticky notes.
•Each day, write one thing you are grateful for on a sticky note.
•Add that sticky note to the place you picked.
•Photograph and post it. (Sharing gratitude is remarkably rewarding on both sides of the equation.)
