Just like Heaven
A 30-Day Music Memory Series
I was the proud owner of a little red motor scooter during my teenage years. It was the perfect transportation mode for living in a small town with a population of around 1000 people.
With my friend Sunshine as my passenger, we’d ride, feeling the wind rush past us and the freedom of the open road. We’d go as fast as we could on the curveless stretches of the town’s mostly empty streets. Slowing down for the occasional dog or pickup truck.
We’d sing songs at the top of our lungs.
Of all the songs we sang on repeat, there was one that always stood out and still brings a smile to my face. It was “Just Like Heaven” by The Cure, and we’d sing it over and over again, belting out the lyrics as we zipped through the streets on that little red scooter.
Those were great times, and whenever I hear that song, I’m transported right back, laughing and singing with my friend on my little red scooter.
Is there a song that reminds you of adventures with friends?
